what's in a name?

Henry Finnegan Nardi . . .

We'll admit Henry was not even on our radar when we first started looking for a boy's name. We had quite a list for a while but nothing we were in love with. We're not even sure how Henry first entered the conversation, but there it was -- it made the list. Then, slowly, as other names faded from our collective good graces, Henry began to climb. Before we knew it, we would say "Henry" to each other and it just felt right. It made the decision easier when we realized that Henry was a german name (becky has german heritage) and becky discovered a Henry in her family lineage from way back.

As for Finnegan, no, it's not a family name from either side. Mike really liked it as a middle name bc he loves the idea of having a little dude running around at the playground or on the soccer field and being able to call out for "Finn". Finnegan has both irish and scandinavian roots (both of us have irish in us and mike has some good norwegian stock in him)

We have to be honest on this one. The boy's name was tough to come by and while we know in our hearts that we have ourselves a Henry Finnegan, it kind of came down to the wire. Silly us, we figured we still had a whole week to get things all sorted out and settle on the name. but as the saying goes: all's well that ends well.
